Nasution PDF Privacy Policy

Nasution Studio built Nasution PDF as a private, local, and ad-free PDF document reader. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles documents and user information.

Summary

  • Nasution PDF does not collect or transmit personal data.
  • The app does not have Internet permission.
  • Documents are processed locally on the user's device.
  • The app does not use advertising, analytics, tracking, or user profiling.

PDF documents

Nasution PDF only accesses documents explicitly selected or opened by the user, including documents received through Files, Open with, WhatsApp, a browser, or another Android app.

Document contents, PDF passwords, search results, and rendered page images are processed temporarily on the device to provide reading, rendering, search, and password-protected PDF functionality. This information is not uploaded to Nasution Studio or any third party. PDF passwords are not stored by the app.

Data stored on the device

The app stores a small amount of local preference data:

  • whether onboarding has been completed; and
  • the last-read page number so reading can be resumed.

The last-read page is associated with a hash of the document address. The app does not store copies of PDF contents in a database. These preferences remain on the device and can be removed by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app.

Permissions and file access

Nasution PDF uses Android's document picker and URI permission system to read files selected by the user. The app does not request broad access to all device storage and does not request Internet permission.

Data sharing

Nasution Studio does not sell, rent, share, or transfer user data because the app does not collect such data.

Third-party software

Nasution PDF uses software libraries to process and render PDFs locally. These libraries run within the app and are not used to send documents or user data to third-party servers. The current version does not include advertising, analytics, cloud services, or payment systems.

Children's privacy

Nasution PDF does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Security

Local processing and the absence of Internet permission reduce the risk of documents being transmitted off the device. File security also depends on the security of the device, the Android system, and other apps that can access those files.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated if the app's features or data-handling practices change. The effective date at the top will be revised when changes are made.
